DRC uses high-end engineering drawing scanners, software and
specialized processes to generate high levels of image quality from high and poor quality originals from different materials including paper, mylar, white prints, blue prints and transparencies. DRC utilizes specialized “binarization” processes and software tools to provide image quality enhancements to deliver digital image quality often better than the original drawing. DRC engineering drawing scanning capacity is capable of delivering upwards of a half a million drawing per year. For long term storage requirements, which often have a permanent retention, DRC generates long term microfilm archive copies in 35mm silver halide roll film and aperture cards formats, directly from the digitally scanned original, to provide a “human readable” back-up copy ensuring long term availability.
