Software as a Service (SaaS) delivers benefits of Imaging and Workflow Automation for less cost and risk than complex in-house systems
The total cost of an in-house Imaging and Workflow Automation (IWA) system over a three year period can be estimated to be 6 to 10 times the cost of the initial hardware and software cost, generating a significant amount of financial, technological and operational cost and risk. The human resource, support and capital expenditure requirements required by an in-house IWA implementation come at the expense of other projects. Increasingly IT organizations are focusing their limited resources on new, customer facing systems and other competitive advantage solutions, resulting in lower performance and ROI for in-house IWA applications.
Conversely, the expertise, economies of scale and specialization of a production document conversion and SaaS provider mean that operating costs are lower, and these savings are passed on the customer, in terms of lower total cost of operation. Any enterprise considering deploying an in-house IWA system and related infrastructure needs to evaluate whether this approach fits within the broader strategic objectives of the organization. The question needs to be asked. Is this an effective deployment of IT and business resources? Costs associated with an outsourced document captured and hosted document management solution can reduce in-house system costs by 25% to 70% when comparing a true assessment of fully burdened multi-year costs, while enabling organizations to focus on core business activities such as invoice processing, payment collection, application processing and underwriting.
Document and Data Transformation drives key business processes and benefits.
Document and data transformation eliminates the problems associated with unbridled document growth, triggering and automating key business processes, both in the front and back-office. Paper based content is truncated at critical corporate entry points (mail rooms and fax machines) and electronic content produced by a variety of systems is linked and integrated into a centralized repository for enterprise access as well as external access to customers, partners and suppliers. In addition to digitizing and amalgamating these disparate content types, business processes can be significantly streamlined by automating document distribution (to the right people at the right time).

In addition, it discusses potential business risks of providing notice of cross-border transfers of personal information.
See attached article summarizing the risks inherent in transferring personal data across the boarder. For further information see Nymity Inc. on industry links page.
